A Strategic Addition for the Bobcats
Montana State University’s men’s basketball program has reinforced its lineup by securing Isaiah Crane through the NCAA transfer portal, a move that adds depth and experience as the Bobcats aim to contend in the Big Sky Conference.
Crane arrives after a standout two‑year stint at Carroll College, where he earned Frontier Conference Player of the Year honors and was selected to the Second‑Team All‑NAIA roster. He averaged 19.6 points per game, shot 54.3% from the field and 50% from three‑point range, and surpassed the 1,000‑point career milestone, ranking 27th all‑time in program history with 1,158 points.
Coach Matt Logie praised the addition, noting that Crane’s skill set and basketball IQ complement the existing core and fill the void left by departed senior guards such as Jed Miller and Davian Brown.
Having started every game at point guard during his collegiate career, Crane brings a steady hand to the floor and a proven ability to stretch defenses, a trait that should mesh well with the ten underclassmen who returned from last season’s roster.
The Bobcats hope the new redshirt junior will help sustain their competitive edge and provide a reliable scoring option as they navigate a demanding schedule, marking another strategic step in the program’s ongoing rebuild.
