SEC Media Days will descend on Tampa, Florida, beginning July 20, and Texas A&M has confirmed that three of its standouts will be on the conference’s promotional roster, underscoring the Aggies’ intent to showcase emerging talent ahead of the upcoming season.
Rising Voices from College Station
Redshirt junior quarterback Marcel Reed, who amassed 3,169 yards, 25 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season, is slated to speak for the Aggies, though his recent turnover woes have placed a premium on refinement; he is working with private QB coach Jeff Christensen to sharpen his accuracy and touch.
Joining him will be junior wide receiver Mario Craver, whose 59 catches for 917 yards and four scores last year have highlighted his elite speed and polished route running, making him one of the most watched playmakers in the league.
Defensive tackle DJ Hicks, who logged a career‑high 26 tackles and three sacks in the previous campaign, is expected to build on that momentum as he enters his second year as a starter, poised for a strong season after gaining extensive experience.
Coach Mike Elko, now in his second season at the helm, is also scheduled to address the media on July 22, while senior linebacker Daymion Sanford will sit out the event due to a lingering lower‑body injury.
The trio’s appearances underscore the Aggies’ intent to showcase emerging talent, with the roster of representatives to be finalized in the days leading up to the Tampa sessions, promising a fresh wave of storylines for the conference.
