Colorado State University’s men’s basketball program has secured a highly anticipated addition as Amondo Miller Jr., a 6‑foot‑7 wing known for his defensive intensity and scoring versatility, officially joined the Rams from Division II Lubbock Christian.
Miller arrives after a standout season in which he averaged 21 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists, earning Division II All‑American honors and setting program records for total points and scoring average.
Why the Rams Became Home
The wing cited the university’s system, the campus location and the coaching staff as decisive factors, noting that the environment felt like a natural fit and that Coach Ali Farokhmanesh played a pivotal role in his decision.
Having spent the past two seasons at Lubbock Christian, Miller also shares a recent on‑court history with current CSU guard Charlie Dortch, whom he faced at Fort Lewis, and he previously overlapped with former Ram star Nique Clifford during their time at the University of Colorado.
At Valor Christian High School he honed his all‑around game, averaging 18 points, eight rebounds and 3.3 assists as a senior, and he now brings that same blend of shooting, rebounding and playmaking to the Rams.
A Versatile Future
Coach Farokhmanesh envisions a roster where every player can stretch the floor, allowing the team to shift between fast‑paced and half‑court sets. Miller’s ability to score, rebound and defend should give Colorado State added depth and flexibility as it prepares for the upcoming season.
