The Ohio Valley Conference has unveiled the list of football student‑athletes who will take part in the 2026 Football Media Day, an event that will be held in Nashville later this month. The gathering promises a blend of traditional media and digital outreach, positioning the conference for a fresh start under its own banner.
A Milestone Return to OVC Identity
July 17 will see the conference’s media activities move to the BNA Hilton Airport Terminal, where a live ESPN+ broadcast will stream the proceedings. The day will also be amplified across social‑media platforms, giving fans a real‑time glimpse of the excitement.
This year’s Media Day is notable because it marks the return of OVC football to its own branding after a three‑year partnership with the Big South Conference that spanned the 2023, 2024 and 2025 seasons.
Eight member institutions — Charleston Southern University, Eastern Illinois University, Gardner‑Webb University, Lindenwood University, Southeast Missouri State University, Tennessee State University, the University of Tennessee at Martin and Western Illinois University — will each send coaches and athletes to participate in the media activities.
Beyond the televised segment, every school will produce original digital content, offering followers a deeper look at the players, storylines and behind‑the‑scenes moments that will shape the upcoming campaign.

Names such as Gabe Giardina, Steve Zayachkowsky, Taivon Snipe, Chris Wilkerson, Charles Kellom, Ja’Wuan Nickson, Kris McCullough, Cole Pennington, Josiah Harris, Jed Stugart, Steve Hall, Jacob Waller, Tom Matukewicz, Jobe Bryant, McCoy Casey, Reggie Barlow, Zack Simmons‑Brown, Sammy Taylor, Jason Simpson, Tommy Ansley, Broderick Tommie Jr., Joe Davis, James Durand and Keshawn Harrington‑McKinney will be featured as the conference highlights the talent that will represent its schools on the national stage.
