Wyoming Cowboys Rebuild with 50 New Players Ahead of 2026 Season

The roster overhaul brings in fresh talent like safety Da'Marion Brownlee while key departures reshape the team's outlook.

The University of Wyoming’s football program is set to welcome nearly 50 new players for the upcoming season, a move that signals a major roster transformation.

Returning veterans such as running back Samuel "Tote" Harris, defensive tackles Dante Drake and Jayden Williams, tight end Jake Wilson, wideout Deion DeBlanc, nickel corner Desman Hearns, and offensive tackles Rex Johnsen and Braylon Jenkins will look to build on their previous performances.

A Revamped Roster

The team also said goodbye to its top four outside targets, including leading receiver Chris Durr Jr., who transferred to the University of Maryland, and cornerbacks Tyrese Boss and Markie Grant.

Among the newcomers is graduate transfer quarterback Tyler Hughes from William & Mary, as well as 1,000‑yard rusher Markell Holman and interior linemen Chandler Donaway, Jason Maciejcak and Jeremiah Katt.

Safety Da'Marion Brownlee, a Dallas native who posted 49 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and six pass breakups at Missouri Southern State, said he is excited to join the Cowboys and eager to contribute.
