MBM Motorsports Shifts No. 66 Entry to Atlanta After Chicagoland Withdrawal

Chad Finchum to pilot the non‑chartered Ford as TNT Sports prepares live coverage

MBM Motorsports confirmed that its No. 66 entry will not compete in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway, removing the car from the upcoming event schedule.

Instead, the same car will appear at the Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, where veteran driver Chad Finchum is slated to take the wheel of the Ford.

Finchum, who has entered four races this season and recorded a best finish of 28th place, will look to improve on that result as he drives a non‑chartered entry that is one of only two such cars guaranteed a spot in the Atlanta field.

Live coverage of the race will be provided by TNT Sports on July 12, giving viewers a front‑row view of the action from the track in Hampton, Georgia.

The Atlanta Opportunity

The shift to Atlanta not only offers Finchum a chance at a better result but also highlights the competitive spirit of the non‑chartered entries that continue to shape the series narrative.

The participation of the No. 66 Ford underscores a growing trend among smaller teams to capitalize on limited charter opportunities, a strategy that has been adopted by organizations such as Live Fast Motorsports, Joey Gase Motorsports, and the efforts of drivers including Josh Bilicki, Casey Mears, B.J. McLeod, and Scott Osteen.

With the support of partners like Ford and the backing of MBM Motorsports, the team hopes to translate its limited schedule into a meaningful performance that could influence future entries across the circuit.
