A summer showcase hosted by Nationwide Children's Hospital in Pickerington, Ohio, gathered some of the state’s most competitive girls soccer programs under one roof.
Teams ranging from defending state champions to recent semifinalists traveled to the central Ohio venue, using the gathering as a litmus test for the upcoming season.
Granville, a Division III semifinalist the previous year, entered the competition with a roster bolstered by returning standouts, giving the squad a depth that coaches praised.
Granville’s Depth and Experience
Key figures such as Ivy Miller, Mimi Wood, Finley Boone, Reagan Smith and Leyah Cook returned, while senior Ella Dils made a notable comeback after knee surgery, even finding the net against Clear Fork.
Watkins Memorial also used the event to fine‑tune its conditioning and teamwork, according to coach Ben Schenko, who highlighted the seniors Keira McKittrick and Kamryn Caldwell, both All‑LCL selections, as anchors of the side.
Assistant coach Jamie Rogovin echoed the sentiment, noting that the experience would help the team translate offseason work into on‑field chemistry when the regular season begins.
The showcase’s format allowed each program to measure its progress against a variety of opponents, setting the stage for a competitive fall schedule.
