A New Face in the Huskies' Backcourt
Tristan Devers, a 6‑foot‑3 guard from Melbourne, Australia, has officially joined the Washington Huskies for the 2026‑27 season, adding an international dimension to the program.
At 21 years old, Devers brings a blend of youth and experience after a stint with the Brisbane Bullets in the National Basketball League, where he averaged 4.9 points and 16 minutes per game while shooting 34 percent from three‑point range.
From Down Under to the Pacific Northwest
Devers' journey began in Australia, where he honed his craft before catching the eye of Washington's coaching staff. His season‑high performance included a 15‑point outing against Perth, shooting 50 percent inside the arc and hitting a pair of three‑pointers.
The guard will vie for the starting point‑guard spot alongside veterans such as Ryan Beasley, Wesley Yates III and Parker Friedrichsen, while also being capable of playing off the two‑guard alongside Beasley.
A Fight for Minutes
Coach Danny Sprinkle highlighted the trio of international additions, noting that Devers, along with Wini Silva and Boris Tisma, represent a new wave of talent aimed at strengthening the squad. Sprinkle emphasized that each player will be given the opportunity to contribute and help the team win.
Justin Schueller, head coach of the Brisbane Bullets, praised Devers' impact and potential, suggesting that the Australian guard could make a meaningful contribution to the Huskies' success.
