Maddie Vallade, a 24‑year‑old standout from Big Rapids, Michigan, is gearing up for the upcoming volleyball campaign while still savoring the afterglow of a breakthrough soccer season. The dual‑sport star has already turned heads with her performance on the pitch, and now she is channeling that momentum onto the court.
Her efforts earned her first‑team All‑Central State Activities Association honors in soccer, where she contributed six goals and seven assists. Coach Curt Ray highlighted her defensive acumen and vocal leadership, noting how she transitioned from right defense to left defense and even found the net in a victory over Chippewa Hills.

Beyond statistics, Vallade cites communication as one of her strongest assets. She believes the Cardinals are evolving into a championship‑caliber squad and that her teammates’ chemistry will be pivotal in that ascent. “Playing soccer since I was young and returning to it in fifth grade gave me a foundation, but volleyball remains my favorite,” she says, underscoring the joy she finds in both arenas.
