Summer Sessions Set the Tone
The Evart Wildcats have entered a vigorous offseason regimen, with summer sessions designed to reinforce the fundamentals of the game while fostering camaraderie among players. New head coach Geof Muma has prioritized conditioning and strength work, aiming to have every athlete in peak shape before the practice season begins on August 10.
Muma’s vision includes a varsity roster of roughly 25 players and a comparable junior varsity group, a target that reflects both depth and competitive balance. The coaching staff is using the current week to install offensive and defensive schemes, ensuring that the team can translate physical preparation into effective on‑field execution.
Veteran lineman Braxtin Andrews praised the new direction, noting that Coach Muma’s approach makes conditioning feel less like a chore and more like a shared challenge. Players are encouraged to push each other, creating an environment where effort and enjoyment coexist.
With the practice season looming, the Wildcats are focused on building a solid foundation that will carry them through the upcoming campaign. The combination of skill drills, strength training, and team‑building activities sets the stage for a promising start when the first games arrive.
