Beyond Fresno Pacific, Hernandez’s coaching journey has spanned a variety of settings. He served as an assistant at Biola University and at NAIA programs such as San Diego Christian and Westcliff University, and he helped Cal Poly Pomona capture a CCAA title and earn an NCAA West Region berth in 2019. His club credentials include stints with Santa Monica United, SoCal Reds, Steel United Conejo Valley and the LAFC Youth Academy, where he specialized in goalkeeper development.

Hernandez’s own playing days at CSU Monterey Bay, Fresno City College and the University of Antelope Valley gave him a firsthand understanding of the collegiate game.
