Chris Goodman Joins Trinity Christian as Assistant Coach and Athletic Director

Former Terry Sanford coach brings championship pedigree to the Sandhills Athletic Conference

Trinity Christian School has named Chris Goodman as its new assistant coach and athletic director, a move that brings a proven championship pedigree to the Sandhills Athletic Conference.

Goodman spent seven years at Terry Sanford, where he served as head coach of the girls’ basketball program and guided the team to multiple state titles and regional finals.

A two‑time conference Coach of the Year, he also led the program to four individual North Carolina High School Athletic Association tennis championships and helped develop Drew Hedgecoe, now a Baylor tennis recruit.

Looking ahead

In a statement, Goodman expressed gratitude for his time at Terry Sanford and excitement about the opportunity to contribute to Trinity Christian’s athletic program, which captured the NCISAA Sandhills Athletic Conference title in 2025 under the leadership of Charles Tubbs.

He joins a staff that includes Tubbs and other experienced coaches, and the school hopes his leadership will continue the tradition of competitive excellence.
