Storm Forces Red‑Flag at EchoPark
A sudden lightning strike within eight miles of EchoPark Speedway forced NASCAR to red‑flag the Cup Series race just before the halfway point, Lap 131.
Ryan Blaney was at the front of the pack, while Bubba Wallace, Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott comprised the top five positions.
Moments later, thunderstorms rolled in, bringing heavy rain that drenched the pit road and forced the drivers to exit their cockpits for safety.
NASCAR later confirmed that once conditions improved, the entire field would be sent to the pits for fuel and fresh tires before the race could resume.
