A Double Commitment
Over the weekend, Indiana University’s football program received two verbal commitments that have excited the coaching staff and fans alike.
Rico Jackson, a standout defensive back from Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Maryland, announced his decision to join the Hoosiers, narrowing his choice to Indiana over Wisconsin, Pitt and Virginia Tech.
Mason McDermott, an offensive lineman from Noblesville High School in Noblesville, Indiana, also committed to Indiana, becoming the second local prospect to pledge to the program this weekend.
Both players said the official visits to Bloomington gave them a clear picture of the campus culture and the support system within the football department, sealing their intentions to join the team.
The commitments add depth to the defensive backfield and reinforce the offensive line, strengthening the Hoosiers’ recruiting class as they look ahead to the upcoming season.
Indiana’s recent recruiting efforts reflect a renewed focus on building a competitive roster, attracting talent from both within the state and out-of-state prospects.
