Josiah Caceres, a senior pitcher and infielder at East Stroudsburg North High School, has been chosen to compete in the 2026 Minority Baseball Prospects All-American Game, a showcase that highlights the nation’s top prospects from the 2027 recruiting class.
The game is scheduled for July 13 at the Rutgers University-Camden baseball field in Camden, New Jersey. Caceres will wear the jersey of Team Jimmy Rollins, squaring off against Team Ryan Howard. Both squads are named in tribute to the Phillies’ 2008 World Series champions, adding a nostalgic twist to the event.
Caceres earned the starting pitcher slot for Team Rollins, a testament to his emerging talent and poise on the mound. The matchup will be part of a larger weekend that includes a home run derby and a fastest-man competition, giving participants multiple ways to display their skills.
Beyond the game, the event ties into the broader Minority Baseball Prospects initiative, which seeks to open doors for young athletes from underserved communities.
Foundations of a Vision
Minority Prospects was founded in 2020 by Alexander Wyche, who envisioned a platform that would provide resources, exposure and mentorship to promising players who might otherwise lack visibility.
Since its inception, the organization has helped more than 70 athletes earn selections in the MLB Draft, with alumni such as Druw Jones, Terrmarr Johnson, Vahn Lackey and Zion Rose illustrating its growing influence.
