The Bourne Braves bounced back from two consecutive shutout losses with a 10-2 victory over the Wareham Gatemen on Sunday night, snapping the skid and moving to the top of the West division.
Offensive fireworks
Blake Schaaf led the attack with four hits, earning Player of the Game honors and raising his season batting average to .325, while Andrew Costello drove in a season-high four runs and added three hits.
Rustan Rigdon joined Schaaf in the hit parade, contributing to a total of 11 hits — the second-highest output of the season — as the lineup clicked across five of eight innings.
Manager Scott Landers praised the collective effort, noting the team’s ability to string together runs and to seize the lead with a three-run outburst in the fourth inning.
The bullpen proved equally dominant, surrendering only one hit over the final six innings to preserve the advantage.
The Braves are scheduled to face the Cotuit Kettleers on Tuesday at Lowell Park, with first pitch set for 5 p.m. ET, aiming to keep the momentum rolling.
