Luke Roaten Secures Preseason All‑America Honor as ACU Preps for 2026 Season

The senior lineman’s accolade highlights a returning core that aims to strengthen the Wildcats’ offense

Roaten earns preseason All‑America honor

Luke Roaten, a senior offensive lineman at Abilene Christian University, has been selected to the 2026 Stats Perform FCS Preseason All‑America second team. The recognition reflects a standout performance at right tackle, where he started all 14 games in 2025 and helped the offense average 408 yards and 30 points per game.

Roaten posted an 84% overall grade and contributed 65 knockdown and second‑level blocks, numbers that illustrate his consistency and impact in the trenches. His achievement comes after earning All‑United Athletic Conference first‑team honors in 2025, a testament to his rapid rise in the FCS landscape.

Twin power fuels the line

The Roaten twins are not the only returning pieces. Center Colter Lynch started every game last season, and left guard Kaden Carr began nine contests, giving the Wildcats continuity along the interior. Alongside Landon Roaten, who manned right guard in 2025, the quartet forms a core that coaches expect to dominate the line of scrimmage.

This depth will be crucial as ACU opens the season on August 29 at home against Lamar, a game that will also be broadcast on national television. The following week the Wildcats travel to Lubbock to face Texas Tech, marking the program’s first national TV appearance since 2014.

After the Texas Tech showdown, ACU returns home for its first home game on September 12 against Stephen F. Austin, setting the tone for a schedule that blends regional rivalries with high‑visibility matchups.
