A Standout Recruit Joins the Wildcats
Julia Sully, a sophomore outfielder, has officially committed to Villanova University's softball roster for the 2026-27 season, expanding the program's talent pool with a player who has already earned national recognition.
During her lone season with the Washington University in St. Louis Division III Bears, Sully earned NFCA Second Team All-Region honors and was named UAA Rookie of the Year, underscoring her immediate impact at the collegiate level.
At Washington University she set a new conference single-season record with 50 stolen bases and posted a program-best .464 batting average, numbers that speak to her speed and hitting prowess.
Her high school career at St. Agnes Academy was equally impressive, where she served as a four-year varsity outfielder, captured two District MVP awards, and helped lead her team to multiple playoff appearances.
Sully comes from a family steeped in athletics; her father, Andrew Sully, pitched at Trinity University from 1994 to 1998, while her brother Nick played baseball at Emory University, a legacy that has clearly shaped her competitive drive.
The incoming class will consist of eight newcomers, including seven freshmen, forming a cohesive group that coach hopes will strengthen the Wildcats' depth and future performance on the diamond.
