Veteran forward Brandon Davies, 34, has called time on his professional basketball career, bringing to a close a 13‑year journey that took him from the hardwoods of Utah to the arenas of Europe and Asia.
Davies first emerged on the national stage at Brigham Young University, where his collegiate performances earned him a reputation as a reliable inside presence despite going undrafted in the 2013 NBA Draft.
From Salt Lake City to the NBA
After an undrafted entry, he earned a spot with the Philadelphia 76ers and later the Brooklyn Nets, appearing in 78 NBA regular‑season games and posting career averages of 3.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.7 assists.
His European adventure began in the 2014‑15 season, where he quickly became a fixture for clubs such as Zalgiris Kaunas, FC Barcelona, Valencia Basket and Olimpia Milano, capturing league titles and earning All‑EuroLeague First Team recognition.
European Triumphs and Honors
Davies helped AS Monaco clinch the French Leaders Cup in 2017 and contributed to Partizan Belgrade’s double‑crown sweep of the ABA League and Serbian League during the 2024‑25 campaign, a season in which he also posted a 12.0 performance index rating across 263 EuroLeague appearances.
His most recent chapter unfolded in Japan’s B.League with Alvark Tokyo, where in a single season he averaged 13.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.4 steals and a block per game, numbers that underscored his continued competitiveness at 34.
Beyond the stat sheet, Davies’ career reflects the growing globalization of basketball, a path that began with a stint at BYU, moved through the NBA’s developmental ranks, and culminated in championship successes across three continents.
Now retired, Davies joins a long line of players who have leveraged their on‑court experiences into broader community and business ventures, though specific post‑playing plans have yet to be disclosed.
