Mariella Claybrook, a forward from North Laurel, announced her commitment to Western Kentucky University, choosing the Hilltoppers for the next chapter of her Division I career.

During the most recent season she helped the North Laurel Girls Basketball team capture their fourth straight 13th Region Championship. In doing so she posted averages of 18.2 points and 11.2 rebounds per game while shooting 55.6% from the field, numbers that underscore her efficiency and impact on the court.
Her achievements extend beyond the latest campaign; Claybrook has been part of four region titles and five district championships, and she has made two appearances in the State Quarterfinals in 2023 and 2025. Coaches and teammates alike have highlighted her work ethic, dedication and team‑first mentality.
