MOC-Floyd Valley moved into the semi-finals of the Iowa State 3-A Baseball Tournament after a convincing victory on Tuesday, setting up a showdown with the Knights of Assumption.
The win was anchored by a dominant pitching outing from Brooks McCarthy, whose command on the mound limited the opposition and kept the Falcons in control early in the game.
Assumption answered with a four-run fourth inning, highlighted by Easton Jansen’s timely hit that put the Knights ahead.
The momentum shifted again in the fifth, when Eli Egger executed a daring steal of home plate, sealing a 5-1 final margin.
