The Dispatch has released its annual ranking of the top 25 high school football juniors across central Ohio for the upcoming 2026 season, a list compiled from 2025 statistics, postseason accolades and the assessments of national recruiting services such as 247Sports and On3.
The players are ordered alphabetically, reflecting a blend of raw production, impact on the field and the early buzz generated by recruiters.
The first games of the season are slated to begin on August 20, marking the start of a competitive slate that will test these emerging talents.
Standout Performers
Among the highlighted juniors, Carson Adkins of Licking Valley stands out as a 6‑foot‑6, 305‑pound tackle already courting Indiana, Penn State and Wisconsin, while Brock Baumann from Westerville Central brings a 6‑7, 325‑pound frame that has attracted Louisville, Ohio University and Pittsburgh.
Davell Brock of Linden‑McKinley, despite a modest 5‑9, 140‑pound build, led his squad to fifteen victories as a starter at quarterback, showcasing poise under pressure, and Malik Carter from Africentric has become a defensive menace, tallying 36 tackles, 14 for loss and eight sacks.
Leon Cummings of Gahanna Lincoln rushed for 716 yards and ten touchdowns as a sophomore, while Demetrius Curtis of Pickerington North contributed 83 tackles, 21 for loss, earning a Miami University offer, and Landon Dawson from Mount Vernon now holds sixteen scholarship offers, including from Ohio State and Virginia Tech.
Micah Fisher of Hilliard Bradley posted 105 tackles and two interceptions, while Dior Hansard guided East to a 10‑2 record, throwing for 1,812 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Geo McKnight of Pickerington North boasts 30 Division I offers and a four‑star rating from 247 Sports, and Alex Meek from Worthington Kilbourne caught 43 passes for 641 yards and six touchdowns.
Thomas Minor of Big Walnut has drawn 11 offers, including from Ohio State and Michigan, while Isaiah Near of London recorded 68 tackles, 15 for loss and three interceptions.
Cory Nicodemus from Grove City has interest from Akron, Kent State and Miami, and Tommy Rowlands of Watterson is the son of Ohio State wrestling legend Tommy Rowlands.
Reign St. Clair of Upper Arlington has offers from Akron, Eastern Kentucky and South Florida, while Jack Smolenski of Worthington Christian made 58 catches for 1,069 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Jackson Szabo of Worthington Kilbourne threw for 2,299 yards and 21 touchdowns, Bryston Toronto of London rushed for 787 yards and 15 touchdowns, and Rashaud Truss of Hilliard Bradley ran for 946 yards and five touchdowns as a sophomore.
Quinez Walker of Northland amassed 66 tackles, 17 sacks and served as defensive captain, while Cyren Wallace of Danville piled up 1,439 rushing yards and 165 touchdowns to go with 100 tackles at safety.
Luke Walters of West Jefferson contributed 52 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss, and Dennis White of Pickerington North caught 65 passes for 1,034 yards and 18 touchdowns.
