The Marist University baseball program has once again been recognized for its commitment to scholarship, capturing the American Baseball Coaches Association’s Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2025‑26 academic year.
The team posted a cumulative GPA of 3.486 across the full academic year and set a program‑record 3.515 GPA during the fall semester, underscoring a culture where athletic performance and classroom achievement go hand in hand.
Nineteen members of the squad earned conference All‑Academic honors, while four players — Andrew Fierro, Nathan Lincoln, Noel Rivera and Tyler Hartley — were selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All‑District team.
A Tradition of Academic Distinction
Coach Lance Ratchford, now in his fourth year at the helm, has guided the Red Foxes to receive this academic distinction in each of his seasons, a streak that reflects the program’s consistent emphasis on excellence.
The award, presented by the American Baseball Coaches Association, highlights teams that meet rigorous academic standards while competing at the highest level of collegiate baseball.
Marist’s achievement also aligns with broader recognition from the College Sports Communicators, which administers the Academic All‑District program that celebrates student‑athletes for their scholarly and athletic performance.
