Elon University right‑handed pitcher Brian Strange has agreed to an undrafted free‑agent contract with the Minnesota Twins, marking the next step in a career that has taken him from community college to the national spotlight.
A Graduate Season to Remember
During his graduate year in 2026, Strange served as the Phoenix’s Friday night starter, delivering 76 strikeouts over 78.2 innings and placing seventh in the Coastal Athletic Association for innings pitched.
His performance placed him eighth in the conference for strikeouts during league play, and he capped the season with a career‑high 11 strikeouts against Fairfield on February 27.
Elon head coach Mike Kennedy highlighted Strange’s work ethic and professionalism, noting that the pitcher’s dedication has been evident throughout his three‑year Division I tenure.
Strange’s collegiate path began at Mineral Area College, where he posted a 10‑6 record over two seasons before moving on to Southeast Missouri State University. He then transferred to Elon, where he completed his Division I career with 168 strikeouts, a 3.27 ERA as a sophomore, and a freshman season that yielded eight wins and 69 strikeouts.
The move to the Twins organization also ties him to a broader baseball tradition in the United States, linking his roots in Massachusetts and Westfield with a professional future that could see him rise through the Twins’ farm system.
