Valparaiso University’s baseball program has once again been honored with the 2025‑2026 American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award, underscoring the program’s sustained dedication to both athletic and scholarly achievement.
Eight Years of Academic Distinction
The award, which recognizes ABCA member programs that maintain a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale throughout the 2025‑26 academic year, marks the eighth straight season the Crusaders have earned the distinction.
Under the guidance of head coach Brian Schmack, the team has cultivated a culture where competitive success is pursued alongside rigorous academic standards, a balance that the university consistently celebrates.
