Academic Excellence Recognized
The Western Michigan University baseball team has been honored with the American Baseball Coaches Association’s Team Academic Excellence Award for the ninth straight year, underscoring the program’s sustained commitment to scholarly achievement.
For the 2025-26 academic year the squad posted a cumulative GPA of 3.57, marking the 17th consecutive semester that the team has maintained a GPA of at least 3.5, a benchmark that reflects both player and coaching dedication.
The Broncos also topped their league with 15 selections to the Academic All-MAC team, while a number of players earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® honors, highlighting the depth of academic talent across the roster.
The recognition comes as the program continues to blend competitive athletics with a strong academic culture, a combination that the university and its partners celebrate as a model for collegiate sports.
