Chase Elliott will not be behind the wheel of the No. 7 Chevrolet at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park this weekend. Instead, Connor Mosack, who has been piloting the same car for much of the season, will take over the drive.
The substitution comes as the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule has been marked by a series of unexpected changes. Kyle Busch, a veteran of the series, was slated to compete in eight races this year but died in May at the age of 41, leaving a void that reshaped team plans.

In the wake of Busch’s passing, a rotating roster of drivers has been assigned to the No. 7 truck. Corey Day and Rajah Caruth have already logged time in the car, and Mosack brings a fifth‑place finish at Darlington to his credit.

Spire Motorsports still has several driver openings to fill, notably for the upcoming race at Richmond Raceway. Meanwhile, the No. 77 truck will be piloted by Nick Sanchez this weekend, adding another layer of intrigue to the lineup.
