The Toronto Marlies have unveiled a slate of front‑office and coaching appointments that will take effect for the 2026‑27 campaign, signaling a strategic push to reinforce the organization’s player‑development pipeline.
Front Office Reinforcements
Chris Bourque, a veteran of three Calder Cup championships, will step into the role of Assistant General Manager while also serving as Head of College Recruitment for the Toronto Maple Leafs. In this capacity he will oversee scouting of collegiate talent and coordinate the Marlies’ alignment with the Leafs’ broader recruitment strategy.
Ryan Hardy will continue to supervise hockey operations, a responsibility he has held for several seasons. He will be supported by Mike Dixon, who remains in his dual position as Assistant General Manager and Director of Minor League Operations for the Maple Leafs, ensuring continuity in the Marlies’ developmental framework.
The organization also highlighted the ongoing involvement of Bourque in the Maple Leafs’ scouting staff, a role he assumed in 2022 after a distinguished playing career that spanned 794 AHL games.
Coaching Additions
Denver Manderson joins the Marlies as an Assistant Coach after a stint as Development Coach with the organization’s American Hockey League affiliate. Manderson’s background includes stints with the Guelph Storm and the University of Guelph, where he honed his coaching philosophy.
Greg Moore returns to the Marlies after three seasons with USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program, where he guided elite prospects and contributed to multiple international medals. Moore previously coached the Marlies from 2019 to 2023, and his return is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the bench.
Steve Sullivan, Head Coach of the Marlies, expressed enthusiasm about the new additions, emphasizing that the blend of experience and fresh talent will strengthen the team’s competitiveness and developmental outcomes.
