Allstate, the U.S. Soccer Foundation and U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder Tyler Adams gathered on a bright Saturday in South Fulton, Georgia, to cut the ribbon on a brand‑new mini‑pitch at Sandtown Park.
A Community‑First Soccer Space
The compact, hard‑court field is designed to give local youth and families a permanent place to kick a ball, practice drills and build friendships without having to travel miles to a full‑size facility.
The project is part of a multi‑year partnership between Allstate and Adams that aims to seed mini‑pitches in underserved neighborhoods across the country, using soccer as a vehicle for empowerment and community cohesion.
Elizabeth Brady, Allstate’s chief marketing officer, told attendees that sports open doors for young people and help strengthen the fabric of neighborhoods. “When kids have a safe place to play, they gain confidence, teamwork and a sense of belonging,” she said.
Adams, who grew up playing on neighborhood fields, emphasized the importance of a local, accessible space. “Having a spot right here in South Fulton means kids can train, stay active and dream big without barriers,” he explained.
Youth Clinic and Celebration
The opening ceremony featured a youth clinic led by grassroots partners For Soccer and Champions Soccer Academy, organizations dedicated to expanding soccer access for marginalized communities.
Families enjoyed a festive atmosphere with local food vendors, a DJ spinning upbeat tracks and inflatable soccer games that turned the park into a lively celebration of sport and community.
This Atlanta‑area installation marks the third mini‑pitch unveiled under the Allstate‑Adams collaboration, following similar sites in Philadelphia and Detroit, underscoring the city’s rise as a national hub for soccer development.
The U.S. Soccer Foundation, which has already opened more than 900 mini‑pitches nationwide, plans to reach 1,000 by the end of the year, a milestone that reflects growing recognition of the sport’s community impact.
Allstate’s involvement in soccer and collegiate athletics stretches back more than two decades, during which it has supported thousands of young athletes through scholarships, training programs and charitable initiatives.
