A Dual‑Sport Legacy
Tyler Rosenberger grew up in Woodmore, Ohio, where his first love was basketball. As a senior he made the bold decision to join the football team, stepping onto a new field while still carrying the rhythm of the court with him.
On the gridiron he quickly became a standout, shattering single‑season program records for passing yards and touchdown passes. A severe ankle injury in his final football game forced Rosenberger to pause and reflect. The setback, rather than ending his story, deepened his appreciation for the mentors who had guided him, especially his basketball coach Don Christie, whose philosophy helped shape his competitive mindset.
At Ashland University he returned to basketball, amassing 1,309 points and ranking among the top three in assists, steals and rebounds. The close‑knit community of Woodmore remained a constant source of support, reminding him of the values he had learned on both courts and fields.
Today Rosenberger works as a finance manager in Avon Lake, Ohio, where he lives with his wife and two children. His professional life mirrors the teamwork and perseverance he displayed as an athlete, and he often credits Christie and his former coaches for the discipline that now defines his career.
