Pettigrew hails from Bolingbrook, Illinois, where he starred at Bolingbrook High School before catching the eye of programs across the country. In total, he has accumulated 33 scholarship offers, including those from Illinois, Michigan, Arizona State, Arkansas, BYU, Florida and Tennessee, underscoring his national appeal.
The Tar Heels join a growing list of suitors, but the offer from North Carolina carries particular weight given Malone’s reputation for developing versatile guards.
