FCS Football Central has released its 2026 Preseason All‑American Team, a preseason accolade that spotlights the most promising returning athletes across the Football Championship Subdivision as the new season approaches.
The first‑team honors are bestowed upon Beau Brungard, Desmeal Leigh and Michael Wells, while defensive back Dev Holman earned a place on the second team, underscoring the depth of talent on display.
Holman arrives from Butler, where he compiled a strong 2025 campaign that featured 44 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and two interceptions, and he is expected to make an immediate impact on the Penguins' defensive line.
The complete roster includes 83 players drawn from 11 conferences and 40 schools, with Montana State leading the pack by securing ten selections, while UC Davis and South Dakota State each contributed six honorees.
Conference Representation
The geographic spread of the selections stretches from Montana and California to Ohio, Illinois and Rhode Island, reflecting the national reach of FCS programs and the breadth of competition that shapes the upcoming landscape.
Adding to the narrative, nine athletes from last year's postseason first team return, among them Brungard, running back Eli Gillman, defensive end Joshua Stonking and safety Abu Kamara, providing continuity and experience that could influence team dynamics.
