Clemson University has bolstered its basketball roster with the addition of David Fuchs, a 6‑foot‑9 forward from Vienna, Austria, bringing the team to 14 players, just one spot shy of the NCAA’s new 15‑player limit.
A Strategic Arrival
The Austrian native spent two seasons at Rhode Island before transferring to San Francisco last year, where he earned West Coast Conference Newcomer of the Year honors after averaging 12.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest, shooting 51.7 percent from the floor and 61.6 percent on free throws.
Coach Brad Brownell emphasized that the Tigers have also welcomed transfers Ace Buckner, Zac Foster, Cole Certa and freshman Harris Reynolds, who are expected to help run the backcourt, while veterans such as Liutauras Lelevičius, Tyler Murray, Dallas Thomas, Trent Steinour, Blake Davidson, Will Stevens and Amare Adams add depth.
The moves follow the graduation of RJ Godfrey, the team’s leading scorer and second‑leading rebounder, and the ACL injury that sidelined Carter Welling, the 2025‑26 rebounding leader, in the ACC Tournament earlier this March.
The roster also includes guard Chase Thompson and forward Dylan Faulkner, while the coaching staff, including Tyler Murray and others, will look to integrate these pieces as they prepare for the upcoming season.
With the roster now near the 15‑player cap, Clemson aims to distribute revenue‑sharing and NIL resources more effectively, positioning the program for a competitive season.
