Arsenal confirmed the permanent signing of Spanish international goalkeeper Misa Rodriguez from Real Madrid, completing a move that has been anticipated throughout the summer window.
The 27‑year‑old, born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in July 1999, arrives after a trophy‑laden spell with Real Madrid, where she made more than 200 appearances and captained the side in her final season.
Rodriguez’s résumé includes a FIFA Women’s World Cup title in 2023, a UEFA Women’s Nations League triumph in 2024, and two Zamora Trophies that recognized her consistency between the posts.
A Stellar Career at Real Madrid
After developing youth football with CD Femarguin, Rodriguez progressed through Atletico Madrid before establishing herself at Deportivo La Coruña, where she helped the club finish fourth in its debut top‑flight campaign.
