Fourteen members of the Florida Gators football squad have earned spots on the 2027 East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 list, a prestigious showcase that gathers the nation’s top prospects ahead of the NFL draft. The honorees span eight different position groups, including cornerback, defensive lineman, linebacker, offensive lineman, punter, running back, safety and wide receiver.
A Deep Talent Pool
Among the named players are standouts such as Cormani McClain, Emmanuel Oyebadejo and Eric Singleton Jr., each bringing a distinct skill set that reflects the program’s breadth of talent. Their inclusion underscores Florida’s strong representation across both offensive and defensive units.
The Gators share the ninth‑largest contingent with the Missouri Tigers, each contributing fourteen players, while Texas Tech leads the nation with twenty‑seven selections. Within the SEC, LSU tops the conference with twenty‑one honorees, followed by Ole Miss, Texas and Texas A&M, all with twenty.
From College to Pro
The momentum builds on the 2026 edition, where three Gators — Trey Smack, Tommy Doman and J. Michael Sturdivant — transitioned into professional contracts, and edge defender George Gumbs Jr. was drafted in the fifth round by the Indianapolis Colts. Such recent successes have heightened expectations for the upcoming Shrine Bowl, scheduled for February 4, 2027, in Arlington, Texas.
The Shriners Children’s East-West Bowl will provide participants with a stage to flash their skills in front of NFL coaches while granting access to elite training resources. The event is designed to accelerate draft trajectories and give prospects a competitive edge as they prepare for the upcoming draft cycle.
