A four‑day youth baseball clinic is set to take place this August in Western Massachusetts, offering children between the ages of six and sixteen a chance to train with a roster that includes former professional players, physical therapists, college coaches and professional scouts.
The event, organized by Forge Athletics, will be held at Spec Pond in Wilbraham from August 10 through August 13. Founded by former Boston Red Sox outfielder Dustin Brisson, the clinic emphasizes a holistic approach to player development, targeting the so‑called ‘five‑tool’ skill set of running, throwing, fielding, hitting and power.
Developing the Next Generation of Five‑Tool Players
Brisson, who launched Forge Athletics in 2024 after parents began requesting instruction for their daughters, says the program is designed to translate raw talent into measurable performance gains. ‘We wanted to give kids the same kind of individualized coaching that I received at the collegiate level, but in a fun, supportive environment,’ he explained.
Participants have already reported noticeable improvements. Parker Scopa, who has attended the clinic for two years, says his game has risen dramatically, while Colin Taylor notes that the training has directly boosted his on‑field results in recent league play.
Registration for the clinic carries a fee of $300 per player, a price that covers four days of intensive instruction, equipment, and access to the specialists who will be on site. Spaces are limited, and early sign‑up is encouraged for families eager to secure a spot.
