Marshall County High School basketball prepares for a packed tournament schedule
The Marshall County High School boys' varsity basketball team is gearing up for an ambitious schedule that will take them across the state and beyond, featuring three premier events that showcase the program on a national stage.
HoopFest will open the season from December 3 through December 5, 2026, at Reed Conder Gymnasium on the Marshall County campus, giving the team a chance to play in front of local fans while attracting some of the nation's most coveted point guards.
The King of the Bluegrass tournament, scheduled for December 18‑22, 2026 at Fairdale High School in Louisville, will host sixteen teams representing Kentucky, Texas and Pennsylvania, creating a competitive environment that tests the squad against diverse playing styles.
Completing the trio of marquee events, the WGM Holiday Classic will be held at Lexington Catholic High School in Lexington, also featuring a sixteen‑team field and offering additional exposure for the players.
Organizers and coaches alike point to the tournaments' track record of producing alumni who have advanced to Division I programs and, in some cases, professional careers, underscoring the significance of these platforms for the young athletes.
