Six UNA Baseball Players Earn Academic All-ASUN Honors

First Lions since 2024 to combine athletic excellence with top academic performance

A Historic Season for the Lions

The University of North Alabama’s baseball program reached a milestone as six of its student‑athletes were selected to the Academic All‑ASUN team, marking the first such recognition for the Lions since 2024.

Eligibility required a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and meeting participation thresholds, underscoring the program’s commitment to balancing rigorous academics with competitive play.

The team posted its most successful campaign to date, finishing with 28 victories overall and 19 wins within the ASUN conference, which secured a share of the league’s Gold Division title for the first time since 2005.

Offensively, the squad dominated the league’s power statistics, with Walker and Jenkins leading the way in home runs, accounting for 82 of the team’s total.

On the mound, the four pitchers combined to rank fifth in the ASUN with a collective earned‑run average of 5.65, providing a solid foundation for the offense.

Three players — Patterson, Oswald and Stogner — earned perfect 4.0 GPAs for the academic year, exemplifying the team’s academic excellence.

Head coach Jad Prachniak praised the honorees for their dedication, stating that their achievements on the field and in the classroom reflect the program’s core values.
