The Atlantic Coast Conference unveiled its 2026 All-ACC baseball selections, and the Wolfpack celebrated a historic haul of four honorees. The recognition underscores a season in which the program has consistently produced standout talent under longtime coach Elliott Avent.
All-ACC Honors
Rett Johnson earned a place on the Second Team while also making the All-Freshman Team, becoming the first freshman to achieve that double since Tommy White in 2022. He finished the regular season with a .397 batting average, a .504 on-base percentage, and a 27-game hitting streak, contributing one home run, 31 RBI and 54 runs scored.
Luke Nixon secured Second Team honors after posting a .358 average, eight home runs, 42 RBI and 55 runs scored. He led the team with 16 doubles, three triples and 118 total bases, and he recorded 20 multi-hit games throughout the year.
Ty Head received Third Team accolades after batting .288 with a team-best 13 home runs, 46 RBI and a team-leading 59 runs scored. His 54 walks moved him into sole possession of second place on the program’s single-season walk list.
Sherman Johnson earned Third Team honors with a .345 average, nine home runs, 48 RBI and 39 runs scored. He enters the ACC tournament on an 18-game hitting streak, the longest active run in the league.
ACC Tournament Outlook
The Wolfpack will open the postseason at 9 a.m. in Charlotte, entering as the No. 9 seed and facing in-state rival Duke. NC State captured two of three games against the Blue Devils during the regular season, giving them a recent edge in the matchup.
This marks the eighth consecutive season under Elliott Avent in which the Wolfpack has placed four or more players on the All-ACC teams, a testament to the program’s sustained excellence and development pipeline.
