Arkansas women's basketball coach Kelsi Musick is stepping into her second season with the Razorbacks, a milestone that feels both familiar and fresh.
A Fresh Coaching Landscape
Having spent three years at Oral Roberts before joining Arkansas, Musick knows what it takes to rebuild a program from the ground up. In her first year she assembled a staff, shaped a schedule and tested a system that would later prove its tempo.
Central to that system is a high‑paced, five‑out dribble‑drive offense. Musick has been deliberate in recruiting players who can thrive in that environment and who are ready for the physical and mental demands of the SEC.
The roster reflects that strategy: two returners, forward Emily Robinson and guard Aisha Hassan, who contributed 7.9 points and 3.5 rebounds last season and sat out the previous campaign after a torn anterior cruciate ligament, respectively. They will be joined by twelve newcomers, including five freshmen and nine transfers, all selected to match the new tempo.
Defensively, Musick brought in former Kansas City coach Dionnah Jackson‑Durrett as defensive coordinator. Together they have worked to lift the team from a No. 113 national ranking toward a more competitive stance.
Looking Ahead
With the new staff in place and a roster built around speed and versatility, the Razorbacks are poised to embrace the challenges of the SEC and aim for a higher ceiling.
