Pepperdine University announced this week that Bryson LeBlanc will serve as the program’s new Head Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator, a move that underscores the Waves’ commitment to strengthening both competitive performance and player development.
A Strategic Addition for the Waves
LeBlanc arrives after three seasons at the University of Missouri, where he helped shape an offense that made notable strides in 2026, and prior stints at UC San Diego, UC Riverside and the University of Oregon, where he honed his reputation as a recruiter and hitting instructor.
During his tenure at UC San Diego, he was part of a coaching staff that captured the Big West Conference title in 2019, and he has mentored 47 athletes who earned selections in the MLB Draft, including standout prospect Kam Durnin, who was drafted by the Houston Astros in 2026.
LeBlanc holds a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Missouri (2006) and a master’s in physical education, exercise, and sports science from Central Missouri, grounding his analytical approach to player development.
Off the field, LeBlanc balances his professional ambitions with family life; he is married to Andria and is the father of two sons, Christian and Camden.
Athletic director Tyler LaTorre expressed confidence that LeBlanc’s blend of recruiting acumen and technical hitting expertise will elevate the program’s trajectory, noting that the new staff will work closely with existing athletes, including Shay Whitcomb, Mark Contreras, Tyler Anderson, Kyle Garlick, Ryon Healy, Scott McGough and Jimmie Sherfy, who bring a wealth of collegiate experience to the roster.
