Spencer Asuchak, the Kamloops-born forward who once thrilled the crowd in Allen, Texas, is set to lace up his skates for the 2026‑27 season with the Allen Americans, the ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators.
The move comes after a distinguished career that spans 620 games in an Americans jersey, the most in franchise history, and a record that includes a runner‑up finish for the Central Hockey League Rookie of the Year Award in 2013‑14.
Asuchak’s return is more than a nostalgic gesture; it signals the team’s intent to blend youthful energy with veteran savvy as they prepare for another competitive run in the league.
A Familiar Face in Familiar Territory
Having previously suited up for the Americans during the 2013‑14 campaign, Asuchak knows the community, the arena atmosphere, and the expectations that come with wearing the blue and gold.
During that rookie season he appeared in 66 games and posted 56 points, a performance that helped him finish second in league scoring for rookie of the year honors.
Last season he recorded 32 points in 52 games, a testament to his enduring offensive touch and playmaking ability.
Now, as he opens his 15th professional season this October, Asuchak will once again be counted on to mentor younger teammates while contributing his trademark grit and skill on the ice.
