A Legacy of Excellence
The University of Minnesota Duluth will welcome 11 new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame this September, celebrating a distinguished era of Bulldog sports achievements.
Among the inductees, four figures from the program’s hockey dynasty stand out: Jocelyne Larocque, Kim Martin Hasson, Alex Stalock, and longtime equipment manager Rick Menz.
Hockey Pioneers and Record‑Setting Netminders
Larocque and Hasson were instrumental in the Bulldogs’ national championship victories of 2008 and 2010, with Hasson posting a career save percentage of .954 that remains a program record.
Stalock’s leadership helped the team capture the 2009 WCHA Final Five championship, cementing his place among the school’s most celebrated goaltenders.
A Milestone in Service
Rick Menz, who manned the equipment room for over 700 consecutive games from 1980 to 2000, will be recognized for his unparalleled dedication and contribution to the program’s operational excellence.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for September 18, coinciding with the Bulldogs’ Military Appreciation Day football game, offering fans a chance to honor these legends on a prominent stage.
University officials expressed pride in the diverse group, noting that the class reflects the breadth of talent and commitment that has defined Duluth athletics for decades.
