The Beaumont Enterprise’s Super Gold Baseball Team for 2026 assembles the most outstanding high school players and coaches from Southeast Texas, spotlighting those who have turned the diamond into a showcase of skill, leadership, and record‑setting performances.
Carson Johnson of Nederland has been crowned the 2026 Player of the Year after delivering a .467 batting average, 32 RBIs, four home runs and a 6‑1 record with a 1.26 ERA over 44 innings. His two‑way dominance epitomizes the caliber of talent the Super Gold team seeks to honor.
Michael Nelson of Silsbee earned Coach of the Year honors after guiding his squad to a 25‑6‑2 overall record and an 11‑1 mark in district play, capturing the 18‑4A championship. Under his direction, the team combined a potent offense with a stingy pitching staff that posted a collective 2.45 ERA.
Rising Stars and Notable Achievements
Other standout performers include Carson Gonzales of Orangefield, who posted a 1.32 ERA and struck out 100 batters to claim Pitcher of the Year in District 22‑3A, and Slade Landry from Bridge City, who hit .380 with 32 RBIs while going 4‑0 on the mound in 24 innings. Harrison Williams of Kelly Catholic set a school record with a .476 average and 46 RBIs, while Reid Tyner broke school marks with 23 stolen bases and 53 hits.
Eli Curtis of Port Neches‑Groves is headed to Arizona State after being named District 19‑5A Pitcher of the Year, and Matsyn Morris of Silsbee was selected as the District 18‑4A Most Valuable Player after batting .354. Additional honorees such as Josh Lawson, Lathan Weaver, and Matthew Johnson have also earned all‑state recognition and drawn attention from collegiate programs.
The recognition extends beyond individual accolades, reflecting the collaborative success of programs across the region. Schools such as Nederland High School, Silsbee High School, Kelly Catholic High School, Port Neches‑Groves High School, Bridge City High School, and Orangefield High School have each contributed to a competitive landscape that prepares these athletes for the next level.
