The Le Moyne College women's basketball program is set to make history on December 16, when it hosts Syracuse University for its first-ever Atlantic Coast Conference opponent.
The Dolphins, who have been building momentum over the past few seasons, will open their schedule against the Orange in a game that promises to showcase the growth of both squads.
A Milestone for the Program
Le Moyne enters the contest with a roster that returns 10 letterwinners and a redshirt from last year’s squad, providing continuity and experience.
Senior forward Ashley Buragas, who led the team with 12.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game last season, will be a key anchor in the paint.
In addition, the program has added a pair of freshmen guards for the 2026‑27 season, giving the coaching staff fresh options as they prepare for the new challenge.
Syracuse’s Recent Dominance
Syracuse arrives with a strong pedigree, having finished the previous season at 24‑9 overall and 12‑6 in ACC play.
Under head coach Felisha Legette‑Jack, the Orange return several pivotal players, including leading scorer Uche Izoje, who earned ACC Rookie of the Year honors and a WBCA All‑America nod, and third‑leading scorer and assist leader Dominique Darius.
The team’s depth is further bolstered by six returnees, comprising four transfers and three freshmen, who will add versatility to the lineup.
The complete non‑conference schedule is slated for release in the coming weeks, allowing fans to anticipate additional matchups.
