Toledo Women's Basketball Sets New Academic Benchmark
The University of Toledo's women's basketball team has been recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) for its outstanding academic performance, earning a spot in the organization's Academic Top 25 for the 2025‑26 academic year.
The Rockets posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.664, the highest in the Mid‑American Conference and tied for 23rd among all Division I programs, reflecting a sustained commitment to scholarship.
Under the leadership of head coach Ginny Boggess, the program has maintained semester GPAs above 3.6 in both the fall 2025 and spring 2026 terms, a streak that extends across every semester of her tenure.
The achievement underscores the team's dual focus on competitive success and academic rigor, a balance that has placed Toledo among the elite in both arenas.
Teams that meet the minimum 3.0 GPA threshold are eligible for WBCA academic honors, with the top 25 receiving special distinction; those outside the top tier are placed on the honor roll.
In addition to the team accolade, the Rockets garnered four CSC Academic All‑District selections and four Academic All‑MAC honorees, highlighting the individual scholarly excellence within the squad.
