The University of Kansas women's basketball squad closed out the 2025‑26 campaign with a notable accolade, landing at No. 25 in the WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll.
Academic Excellence on the Court
The honor roll, administered by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, celebrates teams that combine athletic competition with strong scholarship, requiring a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a coach’s nomination.
Under head coach Brandon Schneider, the Jayhawks posted a collective GPA of 3.651, the highest among their peers and enough to place them jointly with Davidson at the 25th slot.
Kansas was one of four Big 12 programs to earn a spot in the rankings, joining Texas Tech, Iowa State and Cincinnati, underscoring the conference’s commitment to academic as well as athletic excellence.
Schneider’s tenure has been marked by a steady rise in both on‑court performance and classroom achievement, a dual focus that the coaching staff credits for the team’s culture of responsibility and growth.
The WBCA, which represents coaches of women’s and girls’ basketball nationwide, provides educational resources, networking opportunities and advocacy to elevate the sport, making the Academic Top 25 a natural extension of its mission.
