Saluki Men's Basketball Golf Scramble Draws Crowd
Only a handful of spots remain for the Saluki Men's Basketball golf scramble scheduled for August 27 at The Links at Kokopelli in Marion, Illinois. The charity tournament, organized to support the university's men's basketball program, will bring together players, sponsors, and fans for a day of competition and community.
All proceeds from the event are directed straight to the team, underscoring the direct impact of each participant's contribution. Registration, which includes a grab‑and‑go breakfast, a boxed lunch, a post‑scramble reception with a heavy appetizer buffet, and a complimentary player gift, is priced at $1,000 per four‑person team or $250 per individual golfer.
The tournament is co‑sponsored by First Southern Bank and IBEW Local 702, with additional corporate backing from The Tedrick Group and BSN. Timberline Fisheries, Inc. serves as the cart sponsor, while Thrillville has been named the reception sponsor, adding extra amenities for attendees.
The day kicks off with registration at 9 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m. After a midday lunch at 12:30 p.m., play continues until the final holes are completed. A reception begins at 3:30 p.m., offering heavy appetizers and drinks, and a silent auction will run throughout the afternoon, providing further fundraising opportunities.
Sponsorship packages are available at seven distinct levels, allowing businesses to tailor their involvement to marketing goals and budget. Those who cannot attend the golf portion can still join the reception for $30, making the event accessible to a broader audience.
