A Familiar Face Returns to Duke
DeLaurier spent four seasons at Duke, contributing to two Elite Eight appearances and two ACC Tournament championships. In 114 career games he averaged 3.4 points and 3.8 rebounds, and he served as team captain during his senior year.
After going undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft, he launched a professional career that took him to Greece, Israel, Lithuania and Turkey. That international experience now informs his approach as he returns to Durham, this time to guide the next wave of talent.
In his new role as player development assistant, he will work directly with emerging stars such as Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje, Deron Rippey Jr., Cameron Williams and Bryson Howard, helping them translate potential into production.
The Blue Devils are preparing for a 2026‑27 campaign that could culminate in a national title, building on recent deep runs and a recruiting class that many analysts rank among the nation’s best.
A New Chapter for the Program
Head coach Jon Scheyer has emphasized continuity and player growth, and DeLaurier’s return aligns with a broader strategy to blend veteran insight with fresh athleticism.
The addition of a familiar alumni voice underscores Duke’s commitment to developing players both on and off the court, a philosophy that resonates with fans and recruits alike.
