The Minnesota Wild have taken a bold step forward this season by launching an exclusive multimedia television network that will be owned and operated by the club itself.
A Team-Owned Vision
Working hand-in-hand with NHL Productions, the Wild have built a fully in-house operation that oversees everything from on-air presentation to digital distribution, ensuring that each game is delivered through cable, satellite, streaming platforms and over-the-air channels.
Fans across the United States will now have multiple pathways to tune in, whether they rely on traditional pay-TV providers, subscription services, or free broadcast signals.
The network’s mandate is clear: it will produce every regular-season contest that the league does not already earmark for national coverage, filling the gaps left by the NHL’s network partners.
Beyond live games, the platform expands into the Minnesota Wild Audio Network, a suite of podcasts, social-media channels and original digital content that deepens the connection between the team and its community.
Starting in the 2026-27 season, the league will lend its centralized production expertise to a handful of club-level local broadcasts, a move that promises higher technical standards while preserving the Wild’s editorial control.
The impact is already measurable: the Wild finished the 2025-26 regular season ranked among the top ten in both household rating and total viewership, and a recent acquisition of Quinn Hughes sparked a 41 percent surge in television ratings.
During the opening weekend of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the club emerged as one of the two biggest national television draws, and a Second-Round Game 1 set a new cable audience record.
Long-time franchise figure Lou Nanne praised the initiative, saying the new network “captures the spirit of Minnesota while giving fans unprecedented access.” Meanwhile, senior producer Mitch Helgerson and veteran broadcaster Bryan Bellows have been instrumental in shaping the programming slate, with Anthony LaPanta, Ryan Carter, Kevin Gorg, Katie Storm, Wes Walz and Alex Stalock contributing across on-air and digital roles.
The rollout also aligns with partnerships announced with major distributors such as ABC, ESPN, Hulu, TNT and iHeartRadio, ensuring that the Wild’s content reaches a broad audience across both traditional and emerging platforms.
This comprehensive approach signals a new chapter for the franchise, blending in-house production, strategic league collaboration, and multi-platform distribution to deliver a richer, more accessible experience for every Wild supporter.
